Fresh Mizithra Recipe | The Family Cookbook
A staple among staples in Greek cuisine from the island of Crete, mizithra is something I honestly didn’t know you could make in the kitchen. Turns out, a whole lot of milk and a little bit of vinegar is all you need.
I had the pleasure of documenting the mizithra-making process with Greek food blogger Eleni Saltas and her great-godmother Yiayia Kay. This is the essential purpose of The Family Cookbook: bring the generations together to pass down culinary knowledge.
The photos are below, and you can check out the full mizithra recipe and process instructions on Eleni’s blog.
